A ring like Simone Biles': the Lumière hidden halo oval

A ring like Simone Biles' is an oval solitaire on four prongs with a hidden halo under the stone and a pavé band. The closest Kove design is the Lumière Hidden Halo Oval (DDLR-169): the same build with a smaller stone, about 2 ct instead of her 3 ct. Gold 14k or 18k, diamond lab-grown or natural.

Simone Biles received her engagement ring in February 2022. According to National Jeweler it has a 3 ct oval diamond on a 14k white gold pavé band and a hidden halo seen only in profile. The Lumière Hidden Halo Oval has the same build. The differences: a stone of about 2 ct, and pavé in one row along the upper half of the band.

What a hidden halo is

A hidden halo is a ring of small diamonds under the centre stone. From above you hardly see it and the ring looks like a clean solitaire. From the side it flashes between the prongs and gives the stone extra sparkle. On the Lumière Hidden Halo Oval the halo is 12 diamonds of about 1.2 mm.

How big a stone

The design is built for an oval of about 9 × 7 mm, which is about 2 ct. You pick the centre diamond from certified stones of this size right on the model page. The total weight of all diamonds is 2.07 to 2.53 ct.

Simone Biles' stone is about 3 ct, so it is noticeably larger. If you want a larger ring than the page offers, write to us with the inquiry button at the end of this article.

Between two ring sizes, choose the larger one. A slightly looser ring passes over the knuckle, a tight one does not.

Lab-grown or natural diamond

Both are real diamonds with the same composition, hardness and brilliance, they differ in origin. Lab-grown stones come with an IGI certificate, natural ones with GIA, and you can check the certificate of your stone online. For the same budget a lab-grown diamond gets you a larger or cleaner stone.

Which metal

Closest to the look of her ring is 14k white gold: in white metal the pavé and the hidden halo blend with the diamond. Yellow gold looks warmer and more classic, rose gold softer.

14k gold (585 fineness) is harder and holds the small pavé stones better in everyday wear. 18k (750) has a richer colour.

Frequently asked questions

Is it the same ring Simone Biles wears?
No. It is a Kove design of its own with the same build: an oval on four prongs, a hidden halo and a pavé band. The stone is smaller, about 2 ct instead of 3 ct, and the pavé covers only the upper half of the band.
Can you see the hidden halo?
Hardly from above, the ring reads as a solitaire. From the side and as the hand moves, the small diamonds under the stone flash.
Does pavé last in everyday wear?
Yes, the small stones are set in the metal. Choose 14k gold and take the ring off for gardening or the gym, so a knock does not loosen a stone.
How long does production take?
Up to 21 business days from the order, often sooner. Shipping within the EU is insured and tracked.
How much does it cost?
The "from" price is on the model page of Lumière Hidden Halo Oval. The final price depends on the stone (size, lab-grown or natural) and the metal (14k or 18k, gold colour). Once you choose them, the page recalculates the price straight away.Lumière Hidden Halo Oval
