A ring like Hailey Bieber's: the Lumière oval solitaire
A ring like Hailey Bieber's is an oval solitaire: one elongated diamond in four prongs on a slim band. At Kove the matching design is the Lumière Solitaire (DDLR-071-OV). You choose the stone size from 1 ct up. The diamond is lab-grown (IGI certificate) or natural (GIA), the gold 14k or 18k in white, yellow or rose.
Hailey Bieber, for example, wears a similar shape. Her first engagement ring from 2018 had an elongated oval, between 6 and 10 ct according to the jeweller Jack Solow. In 2024 a new ring followed, again with an oval, around 18 ct according to media reports.

Why an oval
An oval makes the finger look longer. At the same weight it looks larger than a round stone, because its top surface is longer. It has no sharp points like a marquise or a pear, so there is nothing to chip in everyday wear. For a solitaire, where you see nothing but the stone, it is a shape people rarely tire of.
Which stone size suits your hand
The model page has a preview on the hand. With the slider you set the stone size from 1 to 5 ct and your EU ring size, and you see how much of the finger width the stone takes up.
For orientation, from the figures on the page: a 1 ct oval measures about 7.1 × 5.6 mm, a 2 ct oval (the size the model is pictured in) about 9.0 × 7.0 mm.
Slim fingers, a smaller hand: 1 to 1.5 ct already looks generous in an oval. The stone takes up about a third of the finger width.
You want the ring to be seen across the table: aim for 2 ct and more.
You work with your hands: the prongs hold the stone higher, so it catches more light, but it also stands out more. Take the ring off for gardening or the gym.
Between two ring sizes, choose the larger one. A slightly looser ring passes over the knuckle, a tight one does not.
Lab-grown or natural diamond
Both are real diamonds with the same composition, hardness and brilliance. The difference is the origin: a lab-grown diamond grew in a reactor, a natural one in the earth. Lab-grown stones come with an IGI certificate, natural ones with a GIA certificate, and you can check the certificate of your stone online before the ring is shipped.
For the same budget a lab-grown diamond gets you a larger stone. A natural diamond is chosen by those to whom it matters that the stone formed over millions of years. You find both options right on the model page, the switch is next to the stone choice.
Which metal
Yellow gold brings out a warm shine and is the classic match for an oval. White gold lets the white colour of the diamond stand out. Rose gold gives the ring a soft, more romantic note.
14k gold (585 fineness) is harder and copes better with everyday wear. 18k (750) contains more gold and has a richer colour.

Frequently asked questions
- Is the Lumière Solitaire a copy of Hailey Bieber's ring?
- No. It is a Kove design of its own with a similar shape: one oval diamond on a slim band. You set the stone size, the metal and the type of diamond yourself.
- How many carats are "just right" for every day?
- It depends on your hand and on how striking you want the ring to be. From 2 ct the stone stands out at first glance. The preview on the hand on the model page shows the difference better than a table.
- Can I see the ring from every side?
- Yes. The page has a 3D view you can turn and zoom, and a 360° video.
- How long does production take?
- Up to 21 business days from the order, often sooner. Shipping within the EU is insured and tracked.
- How much does it cost?
- The "from" price is on the model page of Lumière Solitaire. The final price depends on the stone (size, lab-grown or natural) and the metal (14k or 18k, gold colour). Once you choose them, the page recalculates the price straight away.Lumière Solitaire
