How big is a 1 ct pair of diamond studs?
A 1.00 ct pair means two diamonds of 0.50 ct each — about 5.35 mm across in round. Carat weight for studs is always stated per pair: in round, each stone of the Essentials Diamond Studs measures roughly 4.35 mm at 0.50 ct per pair, 5.35 mm at 1.00 ct, 6.2 mm at 1.50 ct, 6.85 mm at 2.00 ct and 7.85 mm at 3.00 ct. Most clients choose 1.00–1.50 ct per pair for everyday wear; 2.00 ct and above is visible across a room.
Which diamond shape should I choose for studs?
Round, unless you want a visibly different outline — it gives the most brilliance and reads as the classic stud. Oval and pear look slightly larger for the same weight (the pear sits point-up in a three-prong basket); emerald is a step cut with calm, long flashes; princess is square with crisp corners. 14K or 18K gold for earrings?
14K for studs worn every day, 18K for a warmer yellow tone; the diamonds are the same. 14K (hallmark 585) contains 58.3% gold, is harder and holds prongs and posts a little more firmly. 18K (hallmark 750) contains 75% gold and costs more; in white gold the visible difference is small, so many clients choose 14K white and 18K yellow. The Essentials Diamond Studs come in both karats, in yellow or white gold.
Are the diamonds certified?
Yes — every pair of Essentials Diamond Studs comes with an IGI jewelry report issued for the finished earrings, not a certificate for each stone. The report states the total carat weight and the quality of the lab-grown diamonds: F–G colour, VS clarity, Very Good cut. Lab-grown diamonds are chemically and optically the same as mined diamonds, which is why a 2.00 ct pair costs a fraction of its natural-diamond equivalent.
